Vo1. I Chlorophyceae Sectio l-2. The President (of the Royal Microscopical Society of London) called attention to the volumes presented by Dr. J. B. De Toni as being the commencement of a most important work upon the marine Algae. The portion now be fore them contained one section only the green Seaweeds every known Species of which was fully described. The other two great sections, the red and the brown varieties, would be afterwards dealt with. And the whole, when completed, would form the most va luable work of reference on the subject yet contemplated.
