This book develops ways of understanding relationships that bridge the two emotive areas of care and abuse. Discourse analysis is used to enable a critical assessment of how people talk about their relationships and the insights that can be gained from paying close attention. By looking at the applications and implications of understanding how care and abuse are talked about it enables academics, policy makers and practitioners to consider the nature and intersections of care and abuse.
