The Action of the Health Department in Relation to Pulmonary Tuberculosis and the Scope and Purpose of the Measures Recently Adopted for Its Prevention

Excerpt from The Action of the Health Department in Relation to Pulmonary Tuberculosis and the Scope and Purpose of the Measures Recently Adopted for Its Prevention: A Report of the Board of Health of the City of New York to Hon. William L. Strong, Mayor of the City of New YorkIt follows from what has been said that tuberculosis is a communicable disease, and is distinctly preventable. The means which are most certain to prevent its spread from one indi vidual to another are those of scrupulous cleanliness regarding the sputum. These means are largely within the control of the affected individual. It should be constantly kept in mind that it ts the sputum, and the sputum alone, which is commonly the important agent in its transmission.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
