Taoism has influence eastern Asia for well over two thousand years, contributing to a unique blend of philosophy that Buddhism, Shintoism, and Confucianism have also contributed to. Focusing on moderation and the interactions of humans and nature, Taoism teaches a reverence for life and a respect for balance, and has heavily influence Asian rulers in the past. This book presents an introduction to this unique philosophy, its beliefs and practices. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added.
