First published as a series of letters and prose, The Bickerstaff-Partridge Papers is a collection of satire that predicted the death of a famed 18th century astrologer. Writing under one of his pseudonyms, Isaac Bickerstaff, Jonathan Swift released The Bickerstaff-Partridge Papers to celebrate his favorite holiday, April Fools, and to enact retribution on one of his enemies.
