He presents Georgia Douglas Johnson and Jessie Fauset, whose poems reflect on the experience of the African American woman. Also featured are poems by Paul Laurence Dunbar and W.E.B. Du Bois’ “A Litany of Atlanta, ” written in response to the Atlanta Massacre of 1906.
