It involved a double amputation (which is rarely done at one operation) of the thigh of one side, and of the leg below the knee on the other. Both stumps were left open for twenty-four hours, and both healed. It was an expedient not to be despised, though the case itself was one of an extreme nature.Old Dislocation of the Thumb.
