Excerpt from The Boy Scout Song Leader's Manual

This manual has been prepared to accompany the Boy Scout Song Book. All directions contained herein have been made as simple as possible, in order to appeal to the boys themselves.

No attempt at symphonic or choral conducting has been made. Just enough of the technique of directing has been suggested to make it possible for anyone, possessed with qualities of leadership, to lead in the singing of the songs found in the Boy Scout Song Book.
