This is the first collection to look critically at sub-national island jurisdictions. It examines their multi-level governance, international diplomacy, disaster management, offshoring strategies, economic development, other expressions of negotiation and engagement with larger players, especially with metropolitan parent states. The essays illustrate the strategic flexibility which 'non-sovereignty' bestows on these island jurisdictions in relation to globalisation.
