A child left at the city gate, and growing up in the city finds himself mixed up in magic and mayhem, as he grows in size and wisdom, with his new found friends a dwarf called Kindling firewood, a sea captain, his magical painted cat called, Algernon, and Julius Pond an Agent of the King, and a member of the defenders of the crown.
