The Construction of Reformed Identity in Jean Crespin¿s Livre des Martyrs explores the construction of a distinct Reformed identity through Crespin's martyrology. Exploring Crespin¿s martyrology can provide a window into the self-perception of the Reformed church during and around the outbreak of the French Wars of Religion. This book explores and analyses the conception of Calvinist identity that emerged over the multiple revisions of Livre des Martyrs and the various stranger groups it discusses.
