Excerpt from The Fables of Avianus: Edited, With Prolegomena, Critical Apparatus, Commentary Excursus, and Index

I must record my obligations to the librarians of the Bibliotheque Nationale at Paris, of the public library of Treves, and of S. Peter's College, Cambridge, for the loan of valuable and early mss of the Fables. Also to the distinguished archaeologist, M.
