The EDSEL was introduced by the Ford Motor Company on "E Day" - September 4, 1957. Only two years later Ford announced the end of the EDSEL program. More than half a century after this market disaster the surviving EDSELS are valuable collector's items and very popular tourist taxis in Havana.
