The technique of this process is described later. The di¿iculty of combustion is not insuperable, especially if the supply of fuel is ample.To be efficient, incinerators'must be of such a type as to destroy completely and rapidly all material without emitting odorous gases in or about the camp. Closed incinerators are mostly used, as in these it is possible to produce a hot fire before introduction of the material to be burned. They are provided with baf¿e plates, which intercept and divert the products of combustion as they leave the fire grate, and insure their complete reduction to simpler gaseous products.
