The tition was then read, setting forth, hat the petitioners are excluded from the enjoyment of the free constitu tion of these realms, and that they are subjected to the endurance of such exclu sion, not on account of an imputed defi ciency of disposition or o ability in the service of the Crown, or s art of the state, but solely on account their con scientious adherence to that religion which was professed by those princes and pa ariota of Great Britain, who originated and matured her justly boasted constitu tion, that the petitioners a ain implore the House to grant to them t e redress of the Oppressive grievances of which th so justl complete, and to restore them the fit and unrestricted enjoyment of t rank of free subjects of the empire.
