The Philosophy of Bergson (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from The Philosophy of BergsonKant's own philosophy made an advance of this kind. He began, as we know from his corre spondence, with a consciousness of antinomies. He was convinced of the truth of certain elements both in English Empiricism and Continental Rationalism, as he was convinced of the unsatis factoriness of either of these doctrines taken by itself. The Critical Philosophy began when, from a study of these antinomies, he came to formulate a new problem. A great part of the advance in philosophy made by the Critique consisted in the perception of the problem involved in synthetic a priori judgments, and while there are differences of opinion as to the success with which Kant solved the problem which he stated, almost every one is agreed that its mere statement marked an epoch in philosophy.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
