Here, acting under orders, the members of the escort proceed at a slow and quiet pace to their own quarters, dismount with equal quietude, litter down their steeds, pile their arms, and leaving the trophies they have carried in the possession of their leader, straightway seek their own tents.

Severus remains a log, and Tinnius Rufus disturbs his companions by laughing at him in his sleep.
