Dogmatic.

When Sects and Churches everywhere abound,
How may the True among the false be found,
Since One alone can be the Spotless Bride
Of Jesus Christ whom sinners crucified?
I ask the question, as I deem it fit,
Of Christians who believe in Holy Writ,
Believe in Christ and humbly seek the way
That leads to life and to eternal day.
I ask not those who every creed disown,
And, Satan-like, would God Himself dethrone.
The men who shut their eyes against the light
Would value little what a Bard may write,
A Christian Bard, who, filled with holy fear,
Believes devoutly and with a heart sincere
The truths he utters and with love indites,
And begs God's blessing on the lines he writes.
He writes for humble souls who wisely seek
To know God's words, - to them he loves to speak,
For God conceals from haughty ones and proud
What He reveals to those among the crowd
Who humble are, with humble hearts sincere
Seek wisdom's light, and God, their Maker, fear.
