Excerpt from The Teacher's Guide to Accompany the Text-Book of Elementary Physical Geography

The following pages are in effect a summary and exten sion of an active correspondence with teachers that has grown up since the publication of the author's Physical Geography and Elementary Physical Geography. The progress made in this branch of earth science during recent years has been so rapid that any text-book in which the modern aspects of the science are presented must awaken many questions in the teacher's mind. It is with the desire to answer these questions that the following sug gestions and explanations have been written out. A num ber of laboratory exercises are here outlined, but a much larger number will be described in a handbook by the author, Practical Exercises in Physical Geography, soon to be issued.
