Is it not more the after-life in its expressions of sympathy and help for the poor, the afflicted, the despised? Is it not the example of mature forbear ance and charity, the words of wisdom and strength and promise? Is it not the heroic consummation of the sterner phase of sacrifice in giving life that others may find rest? Calvary's hill redeemed the world, the crown of thorns is glorified.
