Excerpt from Things Most Surely BelievedThe sermons in this volume were preached on Sunday evenings in the regular course of my ministry in Richmond Hill. The hope I cherished in preaching them was that they might prove to be aids to the faith of my people in these rather troubled and per plexing times. There has been no attempt to recast them and put them into strict literary form. It is as spoken sermons I beg that they may be judged.They do not profess to make any fresh contribution to Christian Apologetics. A busy minister has little time for original and independent research. At the best, they do but put in simple and available form the truths I have learned from great Christian teachers like Bishop Westcott, and Dr. R. W. Dale, and Dr. Fairbaim, and Dr. Denney, and many another.
