Tracts of the American Unitarian Association, Vol. 5

Excerpt from Tracts of the American Unitarian Association, Vol. 5: Containing Numbers 50 to 61IT is an inquiry of considerable importance, whether the revivals which are countenanced and promoted by very numerous sects of Christians by those generally who having first arrogated in its just sense, are now permit ted to retain as a mere badge of distinction, the name of Orthodox whether these revivals are usefiil. Do they do good or harm? Or both? -and of which the more? I shall endeavor to discuss these questions with candor and a single desire to present the results of fair examination. It is not necessary to occupy time in describing one of these seasons, or in explaining my idea of the meaning conveyed by the term revival in the theology of the day. My interpretation of it will appear from the remarks which will be o¿'ered, and if they should be in any degree inconsistent with the popular sense of the word, or with the facts which reading and observation may have presented to the mind of any one, they will be considered so far irrelevant or unsound.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
