Victor Pons, a working-class man, works as a casino security chief of La Rabassada, which opened in Barcelona in 1911. From that moment, Pons lives two important events in his life, falls in love with Carla Torres, a young bourgeois woman and will be promoted quickly in his professional field, what happens due to the political and labor instability in the Barcelona of that time and this event: the death of a casino customer of Italian origin. To avoid a scandal, and instructed by the Casino Management, Victor would remove the body. However, what at first seemed to be a suicide turns out to be a murder and Pons will be immersed in a police plot punctuated by the mafia threat that will force him to unravel a dangerous web.
