She created the famous wetland characters of Clovis Crawfish and his friends more than thirty years ago-and they still find exciting new adventures. Mrs. Fontenot, who worked as a newspaperwoman for thirty-five years and also as a kindergarten teacher, recently received the Acadiana Arts Council Lifetime Achievement Award. Eric Vincent, artist and resident of Louisiana, has captured the essence of the charming bayou creatures in a style that complements the whimisical text.
