The Frankfurt architect Fritz Nathan created unique works as part of the "New Objectivity" movement in 1920s Germany. Then, the National Socialist dictatorship abruptly ended his career. He emigrated to the United States in 1940 and settled in New York. This long-delayed appreciation of the Jewish architect reveals the extraordinary importance of his early work in Germany and his contributions to modern synagogue architecture in the US.
