Pour le portrait de Gérard de Nerval, nous avons éprouvé un certain embarras, car il n'en existe aucun, ni en peinture ni en gravure, qui puisse être tenu pour un bon modèle. Le mieux était donc de nous en rapporter à la photographie que Nadar a faite de cette figure assez ingrate, dont M. Le Rat s'est attaché à donner une traduction aussi artistique qu'il lui a été possible.
